Here is an idea for gathering - simple, open, unpretentious and creative - and happening in Bristol
Our group has arisen from a desire to explore our faith in a more intimate setting than is offered by the traditional Sunday morning service or even the regular house group.
So we meet once a week to share a simple meal and a glass or two of wine and, using a chapter from a book we have read the previous week as a launching point, we go where the conversation takes us.
The atmosphere is relaxed. There is no order of service. There are no right or wrong answers. There are just six people gathered together to break bread.
Although good friends at the outset, the experience of opening up to each other to discuss our faith and how we work it in our lives, has deepened our understanding of each other and thereby of ourselves.
We draw the evening to a close with a short liturgy (usually from the Iona community).
Our aim is to extend these weekly gatherings into other areas of our lives ie the cinema, walks, talks, the pub etc. Although we have only been meeting for a short period time we have already begun to value our small fellowship as an essential part of a larger whole.
