An invitation to reflect on your Way of Life

In the first eighteen months there has been some confusion about how you join EarthAbbey. Some have signed up on the web. Others have subscribed financially, and we recognise there has been a lack of clarity. After consultation, we have decided that the heart of membership of EarthAbbey will be a commitment to reflect on our Way of Life.

The intention is that this should be much more than making a lifestyle change. The idea is to consider everything about our life and its patterns, including our relationships, work, prayer and communities in the context of our personal aims in life and our shared commitment to live more in tune with the earth.

EarthAbbey will not try to specify the content of this reflection, but we do want to help our members achieve it. To this end we will endeavour to find an Anam Cara, or soul friend, for any members who would like to talk to someone personally about this. Please use the contact button to enquire about this, or phone 0117 9574652.

We have also published a small booklet called Developing your EarthAbbey Rule of Life which has a variety of exercises in it to help people in their reflection.

We invite all members and those who are considering membership to begin this process of reflection now.

In a few weeks we shall be opening a new, and completely private, members only, part of the website known as the Cloister, where members can share what they would like to about their Way of Life reflection, offer help to other members and request help from them concerning any aspect of their life or the projects they are involved in.
