Meals for Body and Soul

We have been wondering how to make a beginning with the formation of local groups. We asked ourselves, ‘What would people really like to do’? How can people meet one another in a way that feels authentic and not just another ‘meeting’ or ‘programme’? How can we introduce areas of interest without falling into the ‘talk’, which leaves everyone but the speaker passive? And we came up with this.

Over the next six months we are going to run a series of monthly Meals for Body and Soul - designed for EarthAbbey members and their guests, where we

  • share food and drink - with an emphasis on local, fresh produce,
  • participate in forms of creative worship, reading and contemplation
  • introduce one area each evening that EarthAbbey members may be interested to take forward in some way.

These evenings are being piloted in two places in Bristol. We hope to share what we do through this site - for others in other places. Our first evening is entitled ‘Consumers of the Earth’ and will take place on Jan 19th and Jan 22nd

Hello there,

I haven’t a comment as such, more a request. Having newly joined the group I would be very pleased to partake in the ‘consumers of the earth’ evening on 22nd (tommorow!) but I couldn’t access the full deatails page? would be grateful for any information? I’m not the most internet savvy - so don’t know if I’ve missed a relavent page? Hope we can all meet and share - sounds an exciting group / movement / idea / refection / worship - how might we describe it - I’m intrigued!! grin
