Ever thought that the church might have got something wrong? Tom Wright is convinced that we are all wrong in our thinking about heaven. This book will change things about the way Christians see the earth today.

book jacket

Many people in the church currently have a view of heaven that is quite out of keeping with what the Bible teaches, according to Tom Wright, one of today’s most respected New Testament scholars. This matters to Earth Abbey because some Christians feel that if our end is to float off into a disembodied heaven while the earth is obliterated, then there is no point in concerning ourselves about this world at all. In contrast Tom Wright understands the resurrection of Jesus as the first sign of the renewal of the whole creation and imagines that none of our work for God will be lost in the great transformation and very earthy reality that is to come. Some books change the comfortable thinking of the mainstream. This is one of them.
