Hi Guys,

Are there any recipe books you would recommend for how to eat greener (less meat, more seaonal etc).  I’m looking for something that a busy family can cook something in 30 minutes that doesn’t require a trip to the supermarket for complicated ingredients I’ve never heard of.

Any ideas?

Hello!

I’ve just come across a selection of recipe books called ‘World Community Cookbooks’. There are two which may fit with your search particularly - ‘More with Less’ and ‘Simply in Season’. (I’ve bought ‘Extending the Table’ which is full of world-wide recipes). I saw them at Greenbelt festival and I’ve just googled them - they’re available direct and on Amazon.

A more mainstream recommendation - Jamie at home - cook your way to the good life. The recipes are listed according to season and there are some lovely ones in it (Curried Cauliflower Fritters aren’t the healthiest, being deep-fried, but they’re sensational with tomato ketchup to dip in…). It has info about growing your own too. I find books like his inspiring to get a feeling for foods that go together then making the most of whatever’s available without sticking to recipes.

Hope that’s helpful!
